Public Library Ramsden Square

Looking north-west at Ramsden Square from a first-floor window on Duke Street in the middle of a spring day. The square, its lawns and flower beds well-managed, is dominated by the very impressive public library while, beyond, upper Duke Street continues through Hindpool past the tall, slim spire of St Mary of Furness Pugin-designed church. A single car is visible – a dark saloon heading away from the square towards Hindpool.
