Walney Channel & Bl Combe
Late 1950s
The classic view of Walney Channel from Jubilee Bridge towards Black Combe and associated hills of south Cumberland. Boats face the rising tide while on the Walney side The Promenade, in the foreground, is tree-lined with just the tower of the Methodist church breaking that line. North Scale village is visible further on while on the town side the chimneys and buildings of the ironworks stand prominently.
