Looking north west from the beach south of North Pier. Holiday makers sit on the beach. A boat sets out from a pier of planks on wheels. Other boats further out. Children splash in the shallows and dig in the sand. Trousers and skirts tucked up. Adults all heavily dressed. Swimmers by a row of bathing machines with horses. The North Pier in the background a steamer at the end. Ice cream cart at the water edge.
