Looking north-west along Central Drive from the junction with Hornby Road towards Hounds Hill, with the tower behind. A tramway runs down the middle of the street, its trolley wire supported on ornate poles while a horse-drawn carriage awaits its next fare. Many shops have canvas awnings open against the afternoon sun, with displays outside attracting interest of the many pedestrians, several of whom are very aware of the camera.
