In the foreground are two women in light 'boater' style hats walking past and a lady with baby in a pushchair stops to look at the photographer. The Big Wheel is in the background. Many people are promenading the wide street, there is a horse drawn 'Liptons' cart, and adverts on the Palace Theatre for Wilkie Bard and 'Ivanhoe'.
