Strawberry Lane
Early 20th century
Though the title given in the album is Strawberry Lane the photograph is taken looking north west up Hollow Lane, past The Farmers Arms in Newbarns (Strawberry Lane was an unofficial, local name for this road). A bike leans up against the pub wall. In the distance a woman in Edwardian dress with two small children. She and one of the children have large hats. 'Farmers Arms' is legible on the sign. A gas lamp and telegraph pole are visible.
