Buccleuch Dock Bridge Open
Early 20th century
Looking west to the Buccleuch dock bridge which is in the open position. The lifting bridge is under construction and will replace the old bridge just beyond it. This is possibly a test of the lift mechanism; several people are stood on the second bridge watching. The bridge approach is under construction to the left. Dockside cranes, high level bridge and large sailing ship just visible in the hazy distance.
