Vickers Shipbuilding Slipways

Early 20th century

Looking North across Walney Channel to the Vickers shipyard slipways. Five vessels are under construction all surrounded by large quantities of timber scaffolding. Two cantilever cranes span four of the slipways. Workshops on left and another covered slipway (empty) on right. Two workers stood on top of the middle vessel. Man in rowing boat in foreground.
