Buccleuch Dock Bridge Lowered

View across the dock to a rolling lift bridge and the operating cabin on stilts. It has a rounded section allowing the span to rotate, lifting the deck into a vertical position. Here it is the lowered position and is beautifully reflected in the dock. Mechanism for lifting the section is visible. The bridge carried a railway line and a signal post is visible.
