High Level Bridge Michaelson Road Barrow

Ornate cast iron bridge. The original high level bridge was proposed by a Furness Railway Bill in Nov 1880 and opened about 17 April 1882. and superseded by a more modern structure in the early 1960s. It was when Barrow Island was actually an Island and access was needed access between mainland Barrow at the shipyard. View towards town with Town Hall.
