Vickers Shipbuilding Stocks
1910s
Huge timber baulks creating a formwork for allowing work on the hull of a ship before launch into Walney Channel. Tall cranes allow access while the work is in progress. Workmen are visible amongst the timberwork and on the crane girders, and a pile of chains awaits a launch.
