Bardsea Lodge
1910s
This is the corner where White Ghyll Lane, running down from Birkrigg Common, joins Main Street, Bardsea. The gateway was once the entrance to a driveway to the coach house of Bardsea Hall. The drive went on, past the lodge, to the back of the hall. The building on the left consisted of Walnut Cottage, a two storied barn and a garage. A man, toddler and dog are standing by the door.
