The Wilkinson Memorial
Early 20th Century
Portrait view. Cast iron memorial to John 'Iron-mad' Wilkinson, 1728-1808, who lived at Castle Head, Lindale. The obelisk originally stood over his grave in the gardens of Castle head, but his body was moved to Lindale Church, and the monument moved to its present site in 1863.
