The obelisk was erected in 1810 to mark George III's Golden Jubilee by the widow of the Lord of the Manor, Gilpin Sawrey. In the picture it has some peculiar iron work protruding from 2 sides. Square laid out in 1760 (Wikipedia). Nice fan-window bottom left.
