Newby Bridge & Swan Hotel
Early 20th Century
Looking North to the arched and stone built Newby Bridge which crosses the River Leven. A finger post at the junction in front of the bridge indicates the distances to Ulverson 9 miles/Barrow18 miles, Grange 6 miles/Milnthorpe 14 miles, and presumably Lakeside on the third obscured finger. On the far side of the bridge is the Swan Hotel. Large trees stand at each end of the bridge.
