Wastwater
Early 20th Century
Standing at the mouth of the river Irt looking North West along the length of Wast Water. In the distance are the mountains Yewbarrow, Kirk Fell and Great Gable, clouds covering the summit of Great Gable. To the right the Wasdale Screes fall steeply into the water, in the foreground two rowing boats are pulled up onto low shingle banks. Small boat house in the trees to the left.
