Looking North West across fields to Staveley-in-Kendal. farmhouse and other farm buildings to left, large house with greenhouse to right. Hill with small tower on top in distance (Summer House Knott and Finsthwaite tower). Finsthwaite tower is now hidden in Finsthwaite Woods. It was built 1799 to Honour the Officers, seamen and marines of the Royal Navy and the victories at St.Vincent, Camperdown and The Nile in 1797.
