Prince of Wales Lake Hotel

Early 20th Century

Looking from the south at the front of the Prince of Wales Lakes Hotel. Originally, in 1855, it was Browns Lake Hotel and renamed after a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1857. A fine driveway leads off the Ambleside to Keswick road (A591). Three men walk in the still unmetalled road. To the left a large glass house. In the background the fells of Grasmere Common.
