Looking from the south at the front of the Prince of Wales Lakes Hotel. Originally, in 1855, Browns Lake Hotel and renamed after a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1857. A fine driveway leads off the Ambleside to Keswick road (A591). To the left a large glass house. Three distant figures in the road. In the background the fells of Grasmere Common.
