Date Posted: | The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. It is uncretain when it was built, although it probably dates back to the seventeeth century. There are records of a church on this site dated back to the 13th century. Ulpha church looks exactly the same today- as it does in the postcard. https://www.visitcumbria.com/sl/ulpha-st-john-the-baptist/ There is more information on the history of churches on this site at: https://www.heritageandhistory.com/contents1a/2010/10/ulpha-chapel-cumbria/?doing_wp_cron=1592849193.6781260967254638671875 | |
