Market Square Millom
1910s
View across the Market Square in Millom towards the West County Hotel. Central is the clock tower and Council Chamber. There’s a drinking fountain and horse trough in the middle. Beesley’s draper and Norman’s Fancy Goods have awnings, Nicholson’s newsagent has a fundraising thermometer. There are two men with a bike, two ladies with a dog and a family walking away. A smartly dressed boy looks toward the photographer.
