High Carley Sanatorium Women’s Wing
1920s
View of the back of the hospital on the Pennington to Urswick road showing the open-air facilities that were used for treating patients with tuberculosis. Wards with large opening doors lead to a verandah. Women patients sitting and lying with nursing staff and one family of visitors. Three women stood with hoes and a rake, presumably as a work party for the gardens.
