The Front
1920s
View over the top of the underground toilets at the end of Rough Lea Lane on the Garfield Road. A block of substantial three-story houses with bay windows and wooden porches, are flanked by smaller houses. The road is not made up. A sea horse stands with a cart half filled with sand and there is a workman with a spade. Children are playing. There are tents in a field beyond.
