Lighthouse At Harbour Entrance
1920s
Portrait view of the elegant octagonal cast iron lighthouse on a bend in the dock wall, at the start of the pier. The tower stands on a sandstone base with a cast iron plaque telling its history and is 9.75m high. Three men, one in a uniform cap, and a women stand nearby. Visible in town are the Golden Lion and Sailor’s Return and Christ Church is close to the harbour.
