Bowness Bay & The Old England Hotel

On a cloudy day, looking north from Glebe Road across the shoreline and piers of Bowness Bay to The Old England Hotel which has long been one of the finest hotels in the Lake District. Many launches await their turn in service at their piers but the steamer pier is empty; together with few pedestrians about, all this suggests that the photo was perhaps taken fairly early in the morning.
