Portrait view. A narrow lane looking up hill. Commercial premises on both sides of the street: Grand Bazaar; Bakery; Restaurant (The White Horse). Post & Telegraph Office in the distance. A man poses in his boater, while women and children stand or sit either side of the lane. The drainage channel is noticeable in the centre of the lane.
