Wordsworth's House, Cockermouth
Early 20th Century
A front full on view of William Wordsworth's childhood home on Main Street, Cockermouth. The house is large, two storey and slate roofed, with a wall around the front garden and large gates. Plaque on the side post says Dr Graham. Gate posts have urns on top. The entrance door has Doric columns either side.The house was bought for £1625 after a fundraising campaign in 1938 and gifted to the National |trust.
