View Northeast from Gowbarrow Fell down the lake to Gowbarrow Bay. Hallin Fell across the lake to the right. Behind is the ridge taking the Roman Road from High Street, right, over Arthur’s Pike down to the Eden Valley. The white house on the promontory is Hallsteads, now the Outward Bound School. There is a bus on the road travelling towards Pooley Bridge.
