The New Loop Road, Whitehaven

Mid 1920s

View north as the Loop Road, opened in 1928, goes over Victoria Road which is rising out of town. On the right there is the row of houses on Albert Terrace and to the left those on Oakbank Terrace. Directly in front is the Sunny Hill Hotel at the lower level. On one side of the bridge is Sankey’s Morris and, on the other, a woman in a cloche hat is carrying bunches of flowers
