Waterhead, Ambleside
Mid 1920s
View east across Windermere at the head of the lake taken from a boat. The Esplanade is a terrace of four-storey buildings between the shore and the main road to Kendal. The Swift is moored at the Ambleside Pier. Passengers are queueing ready to board. Red Screes and the Fairfield Ridge dominate the skyline. Title on negative has clearly been printed on tape and stuck on to the plate. See D627/9
