On Haverigg Sands
Mid 1920s
A view north to Black Combe from the bank of the River Lazy some distance from the shore at low tide. On the left, the houses of Seaview, The Harbour Hotel, the Methodist Chapel and houses on Poolside. On the right is Concrete Square, homes built for miners at Hodbarrow in 1872. A man stands by his boat and other rowing and small sailing boats are drawn up on the sand.
