Wordsworth Stepping Stones, River Duddon

Mid 1920s

View north up the River Duddon to the bridge at the end of Wallowbarrow Gorge. The stepping stones are quite hard to pick out as they curve across the river taking the path from Wallowbarrow Farm to the Ulpha to Seathwaite road near the Newfield Inn and Seathwaite Church. The Pen, a large outcrop of rock stands out above the trees in the gorge.
