A low balustrade wall surrounds a public garden filled with mature trees. Large lights on columns stand at intervals along the wall. To the left is a classical style building with an obelisk at its centre, this is the Southport War Memorial. Through the trees several cars can be seen on a busy street (Lord Street) which runs past the memorial.
