Looking west to the Corkickle area of Whitehaven from the top of a coal mine spoil heap. Railway sheds and sidings below the spoil heaps with various wagons. The buildings of Corkickle spread across the hillside beyond with sports fields on flat ground between the railway sheds and town. Church in centre surrounded by other buildings is St. Begh’s Priory. Mountains of the Lake District in the distance.
