Haig Pit, Whitehaven

Twin headstock towers and pit head wheels in front of a large building which would have contained the winding gear, winding engine and boilers at the Haig Pit. Smoke issues from a tall chimney at the rear of the building. Smaller ancillary buildings surround the main winding house. Railway in foreground and a row of coal wagons standing on sidings to right. Group of workers in front of central building.
