Narrow Gauge Railway Eskdale

mid-20th century

Looking east towards Hollin How bridge as a Ravenglass bound train of open carriages, hauled by River Irt, descends beneath towards Eskdale Green. Trees frame the flat-decked road bridge, the road, visible to the left between dry-stone walls, having crossed the bridge turns west along side the railway. A dark saloon car is parked beside the road near a gate. The title 'H6/201 Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes.
