Looking slightly west of north at Ambleside town centre, largely hidden in the trees. The roof and ornate tower of St Mary's Church are prominent behind trees with the peak of Fairfield and its 'horseshoe' of hills beyond. The title 'H34/214 Ambleside and Fairfield' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes.
