Looking north-west across fields in the upper Duddon valley with Lakeland's highest peaks beyond and the valley cuts into the high ground towards Cockley Beck and the Three Shires Stone at the top of Hardknott and Wrynose Passes. Among trees centre-left is whitewashed Dale Head Farm with its stone barn and outbuildings. The title 'H60/211. Dale Head and Hardknott Pass, Duddon Valley' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes. (cf H58A & H59A)
