The Old England Hotel Bowness
mid-20th century
Looking north of east from a boat in Bowness Bay across the water at the impressive façade of the Old England Hotel, Bowness, its lawns and shrub-filled gardens, including a substantial flagpole, fronting the lake. Trees frame the image's centre to the left and right, while to the right of the hotel, business premises in the town centre may be seen and the former National School is prominent on the right of the image. The title 'H87/214 Old England Hotel, Bowness' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes. (cf H85AX)
