Looking north-west from the bare fellside, high above the road down Honister Pass, some 500m from Honister Slate Mine. Dramatic fells with boulders and screes under a dark sky create a v-shaped valley with the road winding down towards Gatesgarth. The title 'H96/209 Honister Pass' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes. (cf H95A)
