Bowness Bay Windermere

mid-20th century

Looking north-west out into Windermere from a pier where six wooden motor launches are moored; this location is adjacent to the main Bowness Pier. On the opposite side of the lake a wooded fell slopes down to the water while several yachts and rowing boats are visible nearer as MV Teal departs for Ambleside, the higher Lakeland fells visible in the distance. The title 'H97, Bowness Bay, Windermere' has been added to the negative for postcard printing purposes. (cf H97AX)
