The Cloisters Sedbergh School And Winder

View of the school looking north across parkland to summit of Winder rising above the town. The Sedbergh School Memorial Cloisters hold the names of 256 WW1 casualties and 198 WW2 casualties lost in the conflicts. These totals include both pupils and staff. The foundation stone for the Cloisters was laid on July 31st 1922 and in 1924 they were officially dedicated. There are 4 panels for each conflict. The Cloisters were totally restored in 2005 at a cost of £130,000.
