Looking north up Windermere through a frame of trees from a rocky outcrop at Fell Foot on the shore of the lake. Slate, gothic-style boathouse and piers line the 'harbour' where a small number of rowing boats, a yacht and a wooden launch are moored against the piers, on one of which a man leans against a gas lamp as he takes in the view. A woman rests in a deckchair in front of the biggest boathouse while a child plays nearby. The image is printed with 'H464/213 Fell Foot, Windermere' for postcard purposes.
