Looking east-northeast at a sharp angle along the front of three storeyed Winder House at Sedbergh School in an elevated position facing south over lawns and gardens with the mass of the fells in the background. Two gable-fronted blocks with bay windows protrude, the nearer, stone block obstructing a view of the main face of the building while the other block appears to be more modern and roughcast.
