Looking west in summer along a curving main road towards a valley below an imposing hill topped by fluffy cloud. The slopes have a mixture of trees and rough fell pasture above the fields of the valley below. In the foreground the main road has a dry stone wall on one side and a fence on the other, both sides edged by lush vegetation. Two men work in the field on the right. Beyond, trees occupy a small slope on the left while further on a fell road cuts away on the right. The image is titled 'H522 Whicham Valley And Black Combe' for postcard printing purposes.
