Looking west through trees on the lake shoreline across the lake beneath overcast summer skies, possibly from Low Wood Bay, at the bays on the west side of the head of the lake where tree-covered slopes extend down to much of the water's edge. Beyond, the high Lakeland fells of The Langdales guard the entrance to that valley.
