Grasmere

Mid-20th Century

Looking north-west up Broadgate from its junction with Langdale Road and Church Style with fells providing an imposing background. People walk along the road which is without a footpath at this point. One person awaits a bus at the stop and parts of two dark saloon cars are visible. Facing the camera is a slate-built building with a shop on the ground floor, its sunblind lowered. A number of impressive trees and some bushes are spread through the image which is printed with 'H521/216 Grasmere' for postcard printing purposes.
