Incorrectly titled 'Langdale' in the catalogue so amended here, this image looks through a frame of autumn trees almost north up Windermere from the shore at Bowness Bay. Outside the main season, wooden launches are tied to the nearer of two piers with the further, steamer pier empty. Trees line slopes at both sides of the lake, directing the view to the head of the lake, backed by the Langdales and Fairfield Horseshoe.
