The Duddon Valley
Mid-20th Century
With a dry stone wall alongside a road in the centre foreground, this is looking northeast from halfway up Bobbin Mill Hill towards Ulpha and the upper Duddon Valley with the high fells of Lakeland spread behind. On the flat valley floor in the middle distance the church of St John the baptist can be seen together with a terrace of The Gunson Almshouses across the valley a little further away. There is extensive tree coverage in the foreground and on the slopes on the left side of the image which is titled 'H588/211 Duddon Valley' for postcard printing purposes.
