Coniston Water From Lake Bank
Mid-20th Century
Looking slightly east of north, through trees and bushes, from an elevated position above Lake Bank at Coniston Water. The foreground is dominated by rhododendrons, then between two mature trees, the view opens to sheep grazing in a field sloping down to the lake, on the left side of which there is extensive tree cover. A small tree-covered island and promontory almost close the view of the lake, which has the Coniston and the high Lakeland fells as its background. Portrait view.
